Hijab/Jilbab is the Result of Spirituality.
A hijab/jilbab is the sacred dress of a Muslim womans identity in life, in this world and in preparation for the next. Parallel to studying the Holy Qu’ran and reflecting on its stories, listening to talks, my faith and my connection with Allah grew stronger which encouraged me to explore this further. My friends, with correct intentions, imposed me to wear one, i was not convinced and if i was going to wear one – i wanted it to be for the right reasons. With so much negativity surrounding the hijab in the media i was not sure if it was right for myself image.
When all fails, Allah guides his people, this is a known truth. When psychologically and spiritually one is completely with faith, Allah (swt) rewards his people the most highest yet the most humble dignity he can – the jilbab. It not only completes spiritual healing but faith is closely interwoven. It puts one in a good position within culture and religion. When a woman decides to wear the hijab, she knows that her spiritual life is complete. Her hijab is a celebration of unity, solidarity, commitment and her role as a woman of Islam. It is also a message of love that makes the seams stronger and pure between husband and wife and further improves relationships, which also fabricates love, trust and understanding between them.
Having a religious based foundation in marriages is important to complete and unite husband and wife in this world achieving the spiritual level of marriage, with clear actions and motives striving for the hereafter. At marriageable age, young adults have rights to marry the right person, and one thing that is common between practicing muslims is that religion is the locus and essence in which marriages are based on. Looking for the divine love for Allah (swt) in husband and wife is an important part of that process and should not be misunderstood as the final. The common denominator in all marriages, whatever the creed is spirituality: In Muslim marriages we look for spiritual achievement and strive to go on the hajj pilgrim – go round seven times the ka’ba and that is where the hijab completes man and woman as their final dress.
The roots and the logic of the jilbab is this moral understanding that stops men or women committing sins in their life, like the way it completely covers the body and soul, in the same way it completes all needs knowing they do not need to search for knowledge of personal growth further. When searching identity, one is wanting to fulfill his/her needs of being and survival. When needs are met the knowledge of the world teaches to give back and improve society. Therefore, marriages are a solution to earthly problems and should be based on the right reasons and practiced for the good of family and society. If marriages are not based on religious roots and no spirituality is achieved for one or both and they wish to achieve this level, then Allah (swt) gives his people signs: Dreams with direct messages from Allah; insights or further knowledge in the way the persons understand best.
In a cocoon, in essence, the love for the divine and spiritual achievement is what our souls crave for. Naturally, our bodies live and work for this world, some people get too lost in this world that spirituality is alien to them, but looking into the depths of our souls we secretly or openly worship and long for the hereafter, and reaching this level of worship in life is a blessed achievement for anyone, no matter what creed they belong to. People devote their lives for the true divine love and his message of promise to his people with truthfulness and in all abundance.
